During Christmas 2022, as over half of Britons reported feeling anxious about managing their finances, Vodafone’s VeryMe Rewards Programme brought some festive cheer through an innovative and immersive experience.
Using cutting-edge augmented reality, geotagging, and media technology, we created an interactive game that invited players to drop a virtual candy cane at their location. This simple act summoned a playful Elf for a chance to win thousands of prizes, blending holiday magic with advanced tech.
To make the experience truly unique, the candy canes and Elves were designed as NFTs on a private blockchain, ensuring each one was exclusive and collectible to the player.
A coordinated launch day promotion on Heart FM drove significant buzz, while strategic OOH placements and engaging social posts offered clues to the next candy cane drop locations, heightening the excitement.
My role was to design the OOH campaigns and the imaginative, whimsical worlds where the Elves would live, bringing the digital magic to life and making the experience visually unforgettable.
